With a background in graphic design and illustration and after several years as a commercial artist, working mainly with computers, Sean decided to pursue a more hands-on media in the realm of 3-D. Using Super Sculpey, he found the prehistoric world as well as that of science fiction to be his favorite subjects for sculpting. These genres have always held a certain fascination for Sean and have captivated his imagination.
Sean's first artistic attempts as a child were those of dinosaurs and other fantastical creatures. Bringing extinct and mythical animals to life through art has continued to maintain a hold on his creative interests. Only recently, after discovering "Prehistoric Times" magazine has Sean become enlightened to the world of resin model kits. Noticing the abundance of dinosaur kits, especially Tyrannosaurs and Raptors, Sean wanted to represent some of the other groups, particularly mammals, that are less subjected by other paleo-artists.
Sean has recently produced a series of resin kits featuring extinct mammals. So far, they include a 1:45th scale Indricotherium, a 1:17-18th scale Woolly Rhino with Calf, 1:18 Andrewsarchus, 1:20 Megaloceras, 1:35 Megatherium and 1:18 scale Dinohyus. Sean just released four new kits, which are, 1:20th Paleo Bison, 1:10th Smilodon fatalis, 1:10th Barbourofelis fricki, 1:10th Megantereon cultridens, 1:10th Machairodus giganteus, 1:10th Thylacosmilus atrox, and 1:10th Homotherium latidens. He is also planning to diversify his subject matter to include dinosaurs and other extinct fauna.
