World famous paleo-life artist Mark Hallett was 2 years old when he moved from Australia to Southern California.  At the age of four, Mark's parents read to him from Ned Colby's "The Dinosaur Book" which included paintings by Charles R. Knight.  Mark thought, at this young age, the paintings were photos of dinosaurs and was upset when he was told that there was no where he could go to see dinosaurs.  Later, after seeing his first dinosaur movie, Mark was hooked.  

At Long Beach State College, Mark majored in art specializing in illustration with a Zoology minor.  Mark taught zoological drawing at the junior college level and worked as an artist for the San Diego Museum of Natural History. 

Mark has illustrated every major science magazine from Discovery to Smithsonian, Natural History to National Geographic.  Mark has illustrated numerous books including, "Dinosaurs; A Global View," "Seismosaurus," "Dinosaurs Past and Present," "The Complete T. Rex" and the most recently released "Puzzle of the Dinosaur Bird."  He is also the illustrator and co designer of "Zoobooks."

His artistic re-creations of prehistoric animals in their natural habitats have toured museums, such as the American Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Institution since 1986.  Most recently, Mark's renderings of dinosaurs were used by Steven Spielberg in the blockbuster movie "Jurassic Park."  Mark currently resides in Oregon and is very much involved in Paleo Art.
