The Dinosaurs

The Jurassic Period 206 to 144 million years ago saw more diverse types of dinosaurs beginning to appear, such as Dilophosaurus, Compsognathus and Allosaurus along with the giant sauropods Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus.

Flora

The Jurassic landscape was much greener and more lush than in the Triassic. There was a wider variety of vegetation, and it was more worldwide.  Tall conifer forests which included relatives of today's Sequoias, Pines, Monkey Puzzle trees, and Ginkgoes made up the forests.  The tall tree ferns made up the second understory of trees, and the smaller ferns and horsetails were the most common low growing foliage.
