Tony Merrithew has distinguished himself as a talented sculptor.  His bronzes are easily recognized by their sense of inner life and realism.  Tony's ability to dynamically portray animals in motion is partially due to his experience as a professional stop motion and computer animator. 

Although formally trained at Northwest College of Art, most of Tony's inspiration comes from observing his subjects in the wilderness or detailed anatomical studies of skeletal remains.  His work in dinosaurs stems from a fascination with prehistoric times.  His imagination and attention to detail make all of his sculptures come to life.
